Individual Private Lessons

Individual Private Lessons are open to new and past clients.  Lessons can be done, virtually, at our location or your home (within 30 minutes of our location) and are scheduled one at a time. We will be your coach and you’ll be your dog’s trainer.
You can do lessons on their own or with a membership for online support in between lessons.  We are here to give you the support you need to be successful with your dog!
This option is different than our private lesson programs or board and train programs that are all inclusive.  Individual private lessons are a la carte training. Pick the training options that works best for you.  If you’d like to learn more about our Memberships, click here.  Keep scrolling to learn more about individual private lessons.
“I just wanted to tell you that I took Enzo on a walk today with my daughter in the big stroller, and he did awesome!!!!…One of the best walks I’ve had with a dog, and I just wanted to thank you for for that.  You taught us very well!”

Private Lessons

In private lessons, we become your coach and you become your dog’s trainer. We can help with a variety of issues such as
  • pulling on the leash
  • jumping on people
  • barking (at people, dogs, out the window, for nothing)
  • service dog training
  • manners
  • puppy training
  • counter surfing
  • crate training
  • not stealing things and running off with them
  • playing catch me if you can
  • potty training
  • digging holes
  • not coming back when called
  • and more!
We’ll work one on one with you to customize a training program to help you and your dog be successful!

Individual private lessons are 60 minutes each.

They can be at our location or your home (within 30 minutes of our location) You can choose to do private lesson with or without a membership. Below you can find the prices for our individual private lessons.

When you sign up for a Private Lesson Membership, we’ll be in contact with you to schedule your first lesson as well as send you our veterinary form.  We don’t want your first lesson to be delayed by veterinary records.

We have no vaccination requirements for any virtual or online services where we are not meeting in person.  We do recommend to at a minimum have your dog up to date on rabies when doing training with us in any format.

For in person services at our location: In our on-going effort to provide you and your dog’s with the best care and service possible as well as provide a clean and healthy environment for all, we require ALL dogs that participate in any activity at our Freedom Dog Training Academy location provide proof of the following veterinary records from a licensed veterinarian.

For puppies 8-20 weeks:

a) rabies vaccination no later than 16 weeks of age

b) age appropriate distemper/parvo combo shots

c) negative fecal within 30 days of the first appointment and then updated every six months thereafter

For dogs 21 weeks and older:

a) rabies vaccination (1 or 3 years)

b) distemper/parvo combo (1yr, 3 yrs or a yearly titer)

c) negative fecal within 6 months of the first appointment and then updated every six months thereafter

If your dog tests positive on their fecal, they need to be treated.  After treatment, a new fecal test will be needed to make sure the treatment has worked.  Some parasites require more than one round of treatment to get rid of them.

We don’t require the bordetella vaccine but Client is welcome to have their dog vaccinated with bordetella. Client understands that even if Client’s dog is vaccinated against kennel cough (bordetella) or not vaccinated, there is a chance that the owner’s dog can still contract kennel cough.

We appreciate your willingness to help us keep our facility as clean and safe as possible for the enjoyment of all.

For training at your home we do not require a fecal test.

Board and Train

Going out of town during training and want us to work on a specific skill or two with your puppy or dog? Have your dog come and enjoy some fun learning time with their trainer on our 1.7 acre property. Our A La Carte board and trains are customized to where you and your dog are in the training process to help boost your private lesson experience.  As an owner you’ll gain great confidence going through private lessons and also know that your puppy gets more training experience working with their professional trainer.

This training option does not have to be chosen right away and can be added later based on availability.

Board and trains start at 1 week and go from there.  We would discuss what you want us to work on while your puppy or dog is with us as well as how long they would stay. Board and train sessions can work an any training skills involved in training your dog. Examples could be: puppy training, crate training, potty training, manners, walking nicely on a leash, training around increased distractions (other dogs, participating in private lessons, taking field trips), improving relaxation skills, recall, obedience, social with other dogs skills, public access, task training and more. Each board and train is customized based on where your dog is in training.

Two private lessons are included. This allows us to go over in person what your puppy learned with us.  If you live further away from us, we can combine your lessons into two parts on the day of pick up. It’s important to us that you’re comfortable and confident with training for success when your dog returns home

“Very thorough training experience. Nicole is knowledgable and patient. The ideal combination. My dog is so much easier to live with as a result of this training. I would definitely hire her again!”
